Introduction to mental disorders




Mental disorder can also be termed as mental illness, which is in the form of an unusual behavioral pattern that takes place in an individual. In other words, mental disorder can also be considered as a psychic disease, which is basically caused when our mind gets conflicted by external and internal problems of life that is not accepted to our mind. This situation creates an imbalanced mind with regard to our behavior, attitude and reactions in our day to day activities. A victim of mental disorder can be of any age and either of the two sexes. Mental illness is no longer considered as a stigma by society. The society, in which we live in, is now aware about people who suffer from poor mental health and break downs.

In today’s stressful lifestyle, it is common to see many people suffering from mental disorder, in all over the world. Some of the symptoms or signs that can be noticed in a person suffering from mental disorder are as follows:

1)The person may have a dazed look.
2)He or she may lose concentration very soon with
daily activities.
3)The person tries to have a withdrawn behavior
along with a lonely attitude.
4)They may also suffer from mood disorders.
5)A person suffering from mental disorders is found to
be easily angered. They may also yell for no
appropriate reason. They generally tend to be more
irritable in their attitude.
6)People of mental disorder have suicidal tendencies.

It is found that certain chemical changes within the brain, is responsible towards the form of mental disorder. There is no specific cause of mental disorder. However, certain factors that can lead to mental disorders are in the form of death of a loved one, divorce, genetically and involved. A person suffering from mental disorder should be taken to a mental health specialist. Also, it is important to be aware of the fact that the family members should take active role to assist in tackling with the patient of mental disorder.
